Managed IT Services - Minimum & Recommended Standards
To ensure optimal performance, security, and compatibility with our Managed IT Services, all client devices and systems must meet the minimum standards outlined below. We also include recommended standards to help future-proof your technology investment and improve user experience.
1. Hardware Requirements
Minimum
- Desktops & Laptops: 10th Gen Intel or AMD Ryzen 4000 series (or newer). Apple MacBooks from 2019 onward, including Intel and M1-based models.
- Trusted Platform Module (TPM): Physical TPM 2.0 chip must be present and enabled (when applicable).
- RAM: Minimum 8GB.
- Storage: Solid-State Drive (SSD) with at least 128GB capacity.
- Networking: Devices must support at least Wi-Fi 5 and/or 1Gbps Ethernet.
Recommended
- Desktops & Laptops: 13th Gen Intel or AMD Ryzen 7000 series. Apple MacBooks from 2022 onward, including M1 Pro, M2, or newer chipsets.
- RAM: 32GB or more for power users and advanced applications.
- Storage: NVMe SSD with 1TB or more storage.
- Networking: Wi-Fi 6/6E support for improved connectivity.
2. Operating System Requirements
Minimum
- Windows Devices: Windows 10 Pro or higher, fully updated.
- Mac Devices: macOS Monterey (or later).
Recommended
- Windows Devices: Windows 11 Pro with the latest updates.
- Mac Devices: macOS Sonoma or higher, fully updated.
3. Security Standards
- Antivirus & Endpoint Protection: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint or an equivalent enterprise-grade solution.
- Patch Management: All systems must be regularly updated and patched.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Mandatory for all business accounts and critical systems.
- Encryption: Full disk encryption enabled (BitLocker for Windows, FileVault for macOS).
- Firewall Protection: Software firewall enabled on endpoints and business-grade hardware firewall on networks.
- Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR): Required for advanced threat monitoring.
4. Software & Application Requirements
- Microsoft 365: Business Standard (or higher) license is required.
- Backup Solutions: Cloud-based backup solution with at least 30-day data retention.
- Remote Management: All devices must support RMM tools for proactive IT support.
5. Network & Infrastructure
- Router & Firewall: Business-class router and managed firewall are required.
- Wi-Fi Security: WPA2 minimum, WPA3 preferred.
- VPN Access: Secure VPN access required for remote users.
6. Printers
- Device Age: Printers must be less than 5 years old.
- Connectivity: Must support network (LAN/Wi-Fi) access and centralized monitoring.
- Maintenance: Devices must be in good working condition and regularly serviced.
- Service Agreement: Printers must be covered under a Managed Print Services (MPS) agreement with Logics Technology or another approved provider.
7. Compliance & User Policies
- Acceptable Use Policy (AUP): All users must adhere to an internal AUP policy.
- Cybersecurity Awareness Training: All employees must undergo recurring cybersecurity training.
- Incident Reporting: Security issues must be reported immediately to the IT support team.
